How To Diagnose Deliverability Drops After Switching ESPs
Deliverability drops after switching ESPs: check SPF/DKIM/DMARC, warm up IPs, sync suppressions, and track bounces, blocks, and inbox placement per mailbox.
I manage B2B email marketing outreach, and a client provided a list of leads they said was “verified” by a data provider. I skipped my usual list-quality checks and sent a campaign to the full file.
Deliverability dropped sharply (very low inbox placement), and the sending domain’s reputation deteriorated within days. Looking back, the list appears to have included invalid addresses and possible spam traps, even though it was sold as fresh/clean.
What’s the safest way to evaluate third-party lead data before sending (and what steps should I take to protect deliverability if a list like this has already damaged a domain)?
